Native plant up-potting activity
Bee hotel making (PATH)
Kitemaking (Midwest Kite fliers)
Free face painting by Lolli Pop
Milkweed ball making (Milkweed Matters)
And more!
GiveAways And a Collection:
Stop flushing forests! This year we will be giving out free rolls of "Savetrees.co" bamboo toilet paper to the first 250 families - to prove that tree-free is the way to be! It's also highly biodegradable.
We are thrilled to welcome back Solutions Plastics, Omaha’s orange bag plastic lumber manufacturer, exhibiting again this year and also sponsoring the give way of 200 boxes of orange bags.
We will also be hosting an EPS Styrofoam collection for Plastilite - they accept clean, rigid #6 block Styrofoam, keeping it out of landfills. They operate a 24x7 recycling drop-off site in North Omaha.
The scavenger hunt is always fun for families to make their way through the exhibit area. The prizes are OUTSTANDING this year!
We are featuring the following exhibits:

In addition to keeping residential recycling costs down, our city offers yard waste collection, the orange bag plastic collection program, as well as public glass recycling. The city is will also be promoting best practices for storm water run off diversion.
Hillside Solutions has been partnering with Green Bellevue to support the lunchroom composting at Bellevue East and Bellevue West. They will be on hand to keep our event Zero Waste as well as promoting Hillside's Compost Club for Bellevue’s many compost drop off sites.

About Earth Day in Bellevue
Green Bellevue has been celebrating Earth Day in Bellevue since just after our forming in 2010, starting with a Mayoral Proclamation by Mayor Gary Mixan proclaiming April 22nd as Green Bellevue Day at the Haworth Park event as reported by the Bellevue Leader.
Each year since, there have been Mayoral Proclamations by Mayor Rita Sanders and Mayor Rusty Hike. Students participate in the city council proclamations in Bellevue each year. Here is the 2025 Proclamation reading and student talks. Starting in 2015, all Sarpy Mayors signed Earth Day proclamations. With Omaha and Ralston joining in 2021.
Celebrating Earth Day is acknowledging that environment protection by individuals, businesses and the government is as imperative today as ever. Our students have joined the efforts and are leading the efforts to bring awareness and to never let the facts about climate change lose focus.
